Comments About This Park
Lin (7/17/2012): I walk with my dog in the park every evening. It's a great place to let your dog off leash to run and swim. But in the summer time the "people" who use the park turn the woods/trails into their own personal toilet even though there is a porta-potty nearby. It's rather disgusting to find toilet paper, napkins, paper towels, and tampons strewn from the trees, all along the ground and in shrubs. I usually grab a garbage bag and clean up from time to time but I refuse to even try to keep the park clean during the summer. I wish there was some way the town could fine these people if you can call them that. It's so disgusting and they are ruining a nice park! (report as inappropriate)
sandy (7/9/2013): Some friends and I brought our granddaughters to morton park 7/6/13. I should have listened to another friend who told me how bad it was. The class of people, they have no class. Our granddaughters toys were stolen, One of my friends sandles were stolen. I then found the ladies room the worst I've ever seen. No toilet paper or paper towels muds on the floor and a stink that would nock you over.It kinda went with the type of people there. ther was trash all over the place. Two guys not kids were play fighting in the water and ell right into my friend while holding her 3yr old granddaughter. You should be ashamed of that dump. I have and will continue to tell peole how bad it is. The class of people that go there probably think it is great.I went ther as a child for church picnics and it was wonderful,no more. 25 dollars to park is a joke. not worth it. I've been looking for a place to ahve a family reunion but it won't be there. I would be imbarassed to bring anyone there. Shame on you. (report as inappropriate)
amanda (7/19/2014): this pond is horrible. I would never let my child swim there for the waters are so incredibly dirty. I put my foot in the water once and upon taking it out it felt so dirty and slimey. they have nothing but classless people who have no respect for others sprawled out all over the pond. it's quite a disgrace, and utterly embarrassing to say the least. 25$ to simply park is insane, considering all year long aside from summer I can walk the trails for free but in the summer months I'm expected to pay 25$ to take my son or my dog for a walk. NO THANK YOU. the only time i would recommend coming here is off season. this place is supposed to be family oriented but all you see are classless individuals who come from neighboring towns and cities just walk around dropping F-bombs in front of kids like they would swear on front of other adults. never ever ever will I bring my son here to swim, it's equivalent to swimming in a bacteria infested toilet bowl. I wouldn't even pay a dollar to swim or park. (report as inappropriate)
Donna (8/17/2015): Morton Park is a beautiful natural place that needs the action of our town (residents, and especially police and town officials) to preserve, restore, and protect it. We can't expect lifeguards and entrance guards who are just kids themselves to police an out-of-control situation. We discourage bullying in our schools and playgrounds with our kids, yet it is "the townspeople of Plymouth" that are the victims of bullying at Morton Park by non-residents. Running away to another pond or beach is handing it to them on a silver platter. Fight for what is ours! (report as inappropriate)
Andy (8/31/2015): Went here 8/30/15 and the park was loaded. I could not believe the 25 dollar fee for a town park. I just came to paddle for 2.5 hours on billington sea and the boat launch was mobbed with jet skiers. The town also needs to preserve the waters better...I actually saw bottle among other things under the water in the shallow spots. I also understand that boaters have right of way but they still need to respect paddlers, not sure if there is a speed limit for boat, but I bet there is. Overall it was a good paddle that could have been better minus the boaters going to fast. recommend coming during end of Sept instead. (report as inappropriate)
Grover (9/8/2015): Well, Let's call a spade a spade. Most of the "non residents" you are referring to are ILLEGAL ALIENS! They have no respect for our country's laws. Why would they have respect for the rules of the park? I am a fisherman, and I'm not going to be able to go there anymore because the town IS going to make it residents only. Illegal aliens may have residency in Plymouth, and will still go there. Meanwhile, I will not be able to go because I am not. The fish that are stocked in that pond are paid for by the sporting license I buy every year. Park an I.C.E. van there, make a few arrests, and problem solved. Why are we, as a nation, submitting to the hoard of illegal invaders. Morton park used to be a beautiful place that you could bring your family, and enjoy nature. This is no longer the case. :-( (report as inappropriate)
John (10/7/2015): The town of Plymouth will never change Morton park to resident only because of the revenue it generates for the town...as a 40 yr resident of Plymouth and avid fisherman, I have seen the summer crowd change from a local family setting to a classless foreigner party destination. Wouldn't recommend bringing your dog there on weekends never mind your family. It's truly sad that the town doesn't take care of this park with any of the revenue it generates...main road in is deplorable, swings have never been replaced, no landscaping etc...only good thing left is the fishing because the town doesn't manage that!
