XplorEarth (1/22/2012): I spent six months at a cabin near the ferry terminal about 30 minutes from this recreation area. I would walk most days along Glacier Highway and turn off at Otter Way or Point Louisa Road. Either gives you good views though the first let's you walk most of the way along the shore. The scenery changed with the weather; every day bringing a new gorgeous view. I would walk past the recreation area where there are structures for having fires, barbecues and picnics. People would be playing music or sports. There are also great camp spots... there was even a teepee set up one weekend. It's very peaceful and remote. If you are looking for a retreat to clear your mind... this could be it! (report as inappropriate)
